The Farmhouse Property Description

The respective aspects of the château and farmhouse enable the two to be completely separate entities, yet have the advantage of proximity. The farmhouse has 4 large double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a shower room and its own private swimming pool.

The entrance to the house is up old flagstone steps through the original door which opens on to the sitting room (5 x 4.5 m.). This truly has the feel of a traditional farmhouse with its exposed beams, large open fireplace, stone evier (wash basin) and the original flagstone floors. This leads onto the reading/TV room (5.5 x 4.5 m.), again with exposed beams and traditional stone floors and a woodburning stove.

The kitchen (6.5 x 4.5 m.) can easily seat 8-10 but as it leads out on to the terrace, from Spring onwards the latter is where most meals are eaten. It has traditional country style fitted units and original stone floors. In the exposed stone wall which abutts the watchtower, one can see the original archway which would have led into the 11th century watchtower.

The terrace is tiled and has views overlooking the garden, pool and fields/woodland beyond. It has room for a large table and chairs and BBQ. A haven of wildlife – red squirrels, tits nesting in the wall and barn owls in the tower next door; deer and sanglier can be seen crossing the fields … Old stone steps lead down to a gravelled area with pergola, old bread oven and onto the garden.

The TV room has a wooden staircase, carved by a local craftsman, and leads upstairs to 2 large double bedrooms (6.5 x 4.5 m and 5 x 4.5 m. respectively) with exposed beams, new poplar floors, bathroom and separate toilet.
A stone staircase leads down to a tiled corridor with woodburning stove and double doors to the garden. Here there are two further large double bedrooms (6 x 5 m and 4 x 4m. respectively), a bathroom (with toilet), shower room (with toilet) and small utilities room. Again there are a wealth of details including beams and exposed stone walls. These 2 bedrooms also have the advantage of staying wonderfully cool all through the hot summer months.

The details have been prepared in good faith, but are not in any way contractual. Any measurements provided are approximate. Potential conversions, extensions, or building work to the property would be subject to obtaining planning permission or building declaration consents.
